Women are the fastest-growing group of Veterans in the United States, with over 600,000 women using VA care this year. That makes our women’s health team more important now than ever before.
We know that health care is not one-size-fits-all. As we serve the most diverse group of Veterans in history — and the largest group of women Veterans we’ve ever seen — we remain committed to hiring staff that understand their needs.
Bring your expertise to VA. We are looking for exceptional health care workers from all disciplines and specialties. Help us provide high-quality medical, mental health, and support services in a nationwide health care organization.
Make an impact on women’s health
VA offers comprehensive women’s health care, meaning that primary care providers provide general medical care for acute and chronic diseases as well as gender-specific primary care, which includes cervical cancer screening, breast cancer screening, preconception counseling, menopausal support and more.
We also provide a full spectrum of reproductive health services, such as contraception management, gynecological procedures, pregnancy support, and infertility care.
We seek to serve female Veterans throughout their lives, and enthusiastically welcome primary care providers, gynecologists, and more, so no matter your area of expertise, you can play a role in caring for our women Veterans.
- VA nurses take the mission of serving Veterans to heart. They advocate for their patients and make sure they get the care they need, when they need it. Beyond this fierce dedication to the mission, our nurses work to provide innovative and caring solutions.
- Our social workers understand the unique challenges facing our Veterans, and work to assess patients in the context of their military experience and assist them in navigating resources to help them achieve their best health.
- With prescription powers unseen in other health care systems, VA pharmacists are valued members of patient care teams that focus on Veteran wellness. As a pharmacist you will be able to build a personal relationship with the Veterans you serve.
- As a physical therapist at VA, you’ll help Veterans understand their injuries so they can get back to their everyday lives, whether that means recovering from surgery, preventing further injury, increasing mobility, or reducing pain.
- By handling patient appointments, preparing for clinic visits, updating patient information, processing transfers and more, medical support assistants ensure that day-to-day operations flow smoothly to the benefit of our Veterans.
- VA facilities across the country offer programs which teach Veterans about food, nutrition and how to make healthy and delicious foods at home, putting dieticians into key positions to help Veterans as part of VA’s integrated system of care.
