Samantha Santiago is an Army Veteran and active-duty military spouse. She is dedicated to using her experience to articulate the challenges faced by military families and Veterans. She writes:
After completing my transition out of the military in 2020, I found myself facing uncertainty about my next steps and career path. I was left with the challenge of identifying how — or if — my military skills could transfer toward civilian career opportunities while also working to find a supportive community that would keep me connected to my mission of service.
Many Veterans and transitioning service members share a desire for camaraderie, the urge to work for a common purpose, and a responsibility toward others that continues as they pursue careers in the civilian workforce, though the transition is not without its challenges.
