Make May merry and meet a VA recruiter at these events

May promises to be a merry, merry month for medical professionals, as numerous events in some of the country’s most exciting cities offer opportunities to share knowledge and network with experts in the field.

Our VA recruiters will be traveling across the country, as well, sharing information about the many benefits of bringing your expertise to the care of Veterans. Whether it’s a better work/life balance or the ability to live and work anywhere in the country with one active license, there’s something at VA for everyone.

In May, we’ll be attending events with:

The Texas state capital

The Society of Biological Psychiatry (SOBP) will hold its annual meeting in Austin from May 2-4, 2024. The event promises an interactive platform for learning and discovery, focusing on alternative and transformative frameworks for understanding psychiatric illnesses.

Complementing SOBP’s interest in research and investigation, our team can tell you how VA’s research programs play a vital role in the delivery of care for the nation’s Veterans, and how our work is often the channel for new technologies to be introduced around the country.

The home of the Alamo

The American Urological Association (AUA) brings the global urologic community to San Antonio from May 3-6, 2024, in celebration of the organization’s 119th annual meeting and providing unparalleled access to groundbreaking research and the latest advances in urologic medicine.

Urologists are in high demand at VA, particularly in our rural communities, where your skills will be especially valuable. Our recruiters can tell you more, including how you may be eligible for the Specialty Education Loan Repayment Program (SELRP).

The Big Apple

From May 4-8, 2024, American Psychiatric Association (APA) will enjoy 5 days of sessions, courses, and networking in New York City. The annual meeting will gather colleagues and industry experts from around the world, as well as exhibitors featuring the latest technologies.

Knowing that Veterans face unique challenges when returning home and transitioning back to civilian life, our team will be on hand at the event to discuss the mental health care VA provides, and how you can help us make sure they’re getting what they need from VA.

The nation’s capital

Gastroenterology clinicians, researchers, and industry professionals will gather in Washington, D.C., from May 19-21, 2024, for Digestive Disease Week, delving into new developments with leaders in gastroenterology, hepatology, endoscopy, and gastrointestinal surgery.

You’ll also be able to meet members of our team, who will showcase the appeal of working for the nation’s largest health care provider. That includes making your patients the priority and having the time to make the best possible choices for them.

Chicago will welcome the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) from May 31-June 4, 2024. The organization’s annual meeting promises a gathering of the world’s top oncology professionals, making connections and forging collaborations that will change the landscape of cancer care.

VA is hiring oncologists in both facilities and for its national teleoncology service, connecting cancer specialists with colleagues around the country. Our recruiters can tell you more about providing care virtually and giving our Veterans access to a broader window of expertise.
